Microsoft's security updates were kinda useless. WP7 to 7.8 are unusable. 8 is somewhat decent, 8.1 and 10 are about as usable as each other, other than the fact that 10 has more apps.

Best of luck finding news about Windows Phone getting hacked or infected by malware. That is usual Android stuff, especially for the apps.
P.S I've been using Windows Phone for three years now, never received anything shady in terms of apps or documents whatsoever. Don't remind me about my days of using Android, I don't want to think about it again.
YUKI93, 26 Sep 2019It's the same story with Windows Phone, especially for midrange or low-end devices. Put an And... moreWindows Phone 10 actual performance is actually a portion of what was envisaged at launched on flagship phone Lumia 950
IOS 13 is IOS 12 with added features launched after beta testing.
Windows Phone 10 is essentially a new software, not Windows Phone 8 which it repl
Windows Phone 10 crashed to some degree every phone it was tested on.
Instead of pulling the plug Microsoft released it, it essentially acted like a malware this was so bad Microsoft stopped selling phones as to continue would add to the complaint base
Windows Phone 10 after 2 years if software updates still can't be fixed
Windows Phone 8 is the last viable version of the software but discontinued (i.e 3rd party app developers no longer update or submit new apps)
Microsoft has ended its cell phone involvement only those Windows Phone being used are in the Windows Phone ecosystem.
Windows Phone 10 and Windows phone 8 are more secure than whatever Google's Android can offer however say an owner has to flash their phone, many third party apps are no longer in the app store
Windows Phone 10 is essentially malware, if it could have been fixed Microsoft would still be manufacturing phones
The discontinued WP8 if Microsoft had any desire to re-enter the cell phone market would be the basis or foundation if any any new Windows Phone software, however third party app developers follow phone sales
The most secure Operating System is Blackberry 10 OS, BB 10 OS is essentially QNX the super secure operating system that is used in Driverless Cars
Android 10 is nowhere near what QNX offers.
The paradox is there is no longer Blackberry 10 phones being produced, Blackberry phones are Android versions
Blackberry 10 App World Third party apps closes on 12/31/2019 a little over 3 months from now ,but QNX is alive and viable outside the cell phone market
If.. If in an alternative universe phone makers opted for BB 10 OS instead of Android, gone from day one is a need for monthly security patches,
To reiterate third-party apps follow phone sales, so despite BB 10 OS being similar to Android, only everybody releasing BB 10 phones would there be a commitment for apps available on Android being available on any BB 10
Android 10 go is playing catch up to the now "closed" OS
sr777, 27 Sep 2019There hasn't been Windows phone in ages. Some websites don't support the old version of Edge ... moreTrue about the Edge browser, but there is a third party browser based on Edge called Monument Browser, and I'm using that more than Edge.

Certainly you can use it for a certain extent but you'll loose many online services.

Put an Android and a Windows Phone device with 1GB RAM side-by-side, and the difference in terms of speed is just day and night. Even if that Android device has octa-core, it got beaten by a quad-core Windows Phone. It just beggars belief!
I can definitely say that because I was once an Android user before I made my switch to Windows Phone and still sticking with it to this day.
Krisbenea, 26 Sep 2019So 2years old ex flagship won't be updated to 10, but mediocre/low hardware will get it? PffftIt all depends on that certain brand to roll out an update, especially for smartphones that use standard OEM Android. That is why HMD Nokia sticks with Android One, software updates and security patches is a must and they do deliver as promised.

Krisbenea, 26 Sep 2019So 2years old ex flagship won't be updated to 10, but mediocre/low hardware will get it? PffftWell, the first Pixel will get android 10 and it is 3 years old, you can't blame Google for that, it is up to the OEMs to upgrade their devices.

But after using this on some great hardware, the OS just feels meh. Flagship hardware with 10nm soc, 6gb ddr4x ram, and ufs2 storage becoming noticeably slow only after 4-5 months. While similar or low specs iOS devices just flies even after 2-3 years of continuous usage
So 2years old ex flagship won't be updated to 10, but mediocre/low hardware will get it? Pffft
so if someone manage to install Android Go on a flagship, that would be one lightning fast smartphone
Anonymous, 26 Sep 2019You need a special version of android to be fast? ROFL.. Proves android is unoptimised. Still really cool, considering that these phones retail at around 50 bucks.
Anonymous, 26 Sep 2019You need a special version of android to be fast? ROFL.. Proves android is unoptimised. It just proves you can't read or understand the point of Android Go.

Android is now a boring OS with prehistoric underpinnings and its resourc heavy and taxing on hardware
Current Android OEM Hardware is excellent but the weaklink is Android os itself, imagine using excellent 7nm cutting edge SoC only to be wasted on rendering the ui using freaking awful OpenGL
Current hardware deserve a better futuristic OS like Fuchsia
